Educate Massachusetts's insight:

Global understanding through virtual travel -

Best results indicate using  consistent, familiar platforms such as Connected Classrooms which allows our students to become proficient in using and connecting through smart tools such as Connected Classrooms.  Teching through questioning allows students to discover their objective analysis of a communicator's  intent across cultures through body language, intonation, words, environment and situations where patterns occur.  With quantitave and qualitative data students will formulate appropriate essential questions as they become familiar with a broad range of peoples on a common platform.

Teaching Students to Become Curators of Ideas: The Curation Project

Teaching Students to Become Curators of Ideas: The Curation Project | Integrating Digital Education for All Learners: Tools and Resources | Scoop.it

"Over the last couple of years, I’ve come to think of my role as a teacher as that of a curator of ideas" says Corinne Weisgerber who teaches Social Media and Communication at St Edwards Unniversity in Austin, TX (if you haven't yet, check out her great prez here).

As she explained in this post, the Curation Project was about getting her students "to set up a network of online mentors using social media tools" and "to identify experts in their field and connect with them in order to build a personal learning network (PLN)."

The idea behing the PNL is to help them discover valuable information through social search that they wouldn't have discovered otherwise.

Interesting project and read.

And great work by the students who used various curation platforms for the project, including Storify and Scoop.it (links in the post)

20 Must-See Facts About The 21st Century Classroom | Edudemic

20 Must-See Facts About The 21st Century Classroom | Edudemic | Integrating Digital Education for All Learners: Tools and Resources | Scoop.it

The classroom of the future is on your doorstep. We’re getting slapped in the face with technology (sorry about that, partially my fault), flipped classroom models, and innovative ideas.

So what is the current state of the 21st century classroom? How many teachers have computers in their classroom? What are the 3 biggest reasons to use technology in your classroom? A new infographic from Open Colleges spells it out. We had the honor of helping them with this infographic so please spend at least half a second to check it out. Make me think that someone actually sees some of our hard work!
