3 classroom tools to measure Student Learning

3 classroom tools to measure Student Learning | Differentiated and ict Instruction | Scoop.it
Formative assessment is vital to teachers in any classroom environment. Teachers have been formatively assessing students for years, because we must know what our students know in order to help them understand what they do not know. Do you know what I mean?!

Fortunately, many classrooms are charging into the 21st century with technology initiatives. Whether your technology program has created a 1:1 environment, a BYOD system, or you have access to only a few devices in your classroom, these three tech tools will help you engage your students while simultaneously gauging their understanding of concepts.

A new, more inclusive vision of education and training up to 2020

Brussels, 1 September 2015

A draft joint report by the Commission published today calls for strengthening cooperation in education and training up to 2020 and especially to promote social inclusion.

The Commission is today proposing to strengthen cooperation at European level in the field of education and training up to 2020. Its draft of a joint report by the Commission and Member States published today calls for making European education and training systems more socially inclusive, as part of the wider efforts to tackle radicalisation following the 2015 attacks in Paris and Copenhagen.
The report proposes a sharper policy focus to better address the most pressing challenges facing our society. The six new priorities identified in the report include improving people's skills and employment prospects and creating open, innovative and digital learning environments, while at the same time cultivating fundamental values of equality, non-discrimination and active citizenship.

Spaces for Learning

Spaces for Learning | Differentiated and ict Instruction | Scoop.it

The design of any learning space must be guided by sound principles of learning and the spaces need to be matched to the pedagogy of those who will use them. The most amazing space will fail to enhance learning if it does not suit the needs of its users. There is a danger in hoping that new learning spaces will transform tired pedagogy; a belief that is not reflected by experience.

Do your surroundings affect your ability to learn?

Zina Alaswad's curator insight, October 1, 2015 10:45 AM

I know this is mostly interior design related. However, I can't help but think that similar standards should be applied to any learning space/ environment: "The most amazing space will fail to enhance learning if it does not suit the needs of its users" .... This quote really puts things in perspective for me. How can we as instructors and instructional designers make sure that the design of our learning spaces/ environments (virtual/ physical) is suitable and matching to needs, desires, and activities performed for the sake of learning?
