Asking a Simple Question Can Change Everything for a Student

Asking one question can open a world of opportunity for students who are otherwise disengaged in school: What do you like to do every day?

Linda Buckmaster's curator insight, July 8, 3:16 AM

Gallup's research "Asking a simple question can change everything for a student" follows OpenColleges research that found the more a teacher cares about her students, the more respect she will receive from them.

By asking one question can open a world of opportunity for students who are disengaged in college.  For example one simple question: "what do you like to do every day?"

I have observed classes where the teacher does not even greet their class with a simple "hello".Teachers who are not engaged with their students will result in disengaged students.
