Agile, continuous delivery and devops - walls come tumbling down | Enterprise CIO Forum

Agile, continuous delivery and devops - walls come tumbling down | Enterprise CIO Forum | DevOps in the Enterprise | Scoop.it

Part 1 of 2: Kanban vs Scrum Myths and Hype

Part 1 of 2: Kanban vs Scrum Myths and Hype | DevOps in the Enterprise | Scoop.it
The Kanban vs Scrum debate - what's the difference? Which is better? Myths and hype aside, implementing the right agile development tool has more to do with the business' commitment to...

Oh boy! The Scrum vs Kanban can-o-worms just got opened at work. Is it just me or this a false choice? I like Scrum for feature development and Kanban for maintenance. And don't get me started with Scrumban!

Devops a Wicked problem

Devops a Wicked problem | DevOps in the Enterprise | Scoop.it

"One of the strong pillars of devops (if not the strongest) is the collaboration / communication."

DevOps is certainly not a *wicked problem* imo, just a complex one with varied solutions based on context. I do however, love the idea of The Symetry of Ignorance and The Symetry of Arrogance. This article is a real tour-de-force for Patrick and a jumping off point for a lot more reading and discussion.

8 Principles of Continuous Delivery | Javalobby

8 Principles of Continuous Delivery | Javalobby | DevOps in the Enterprise | Scoop.it

Continuous delivery is basically the logical extension of Continuous Integration – it’s a more holistic solution than C.I. though, as it encapsulates a lot more than just the development of software.

For instance, continuous delivery focuses a lot more on requirements than C.I. ever did, and involves a great deal more people on the delivery chain than traditional C.I. as well. It also has a greater customer focus than C.I.

Agile: I Prefer Hype to Ignorance

Agile: I Prefer Hype to Ignorance | DevOps in the Enterprise | Scoop.it

Martin Fowler claims semantic diffusion coincides with hype phase of an idea. The Chinese whispers, the distortion that comes with the whispers, and the volume of distortion was all part of the hype around Agile. Or, put another way, as the hype increased the meaning of Agile waned.

Oh boy, I've been preaching this to the Scrum-butts I know who have Agile development followed by a waterfall testing and release process that can take weeks or even months! :-(
