Yes, seriously. Desk chairs.  Don't look at us, if I started swerving around on mine I'd run over my old dog and knock down a pile of actual Ducati's. Which now that I think of it, might win me a trip. Hmmmmm.

Spy Photos - The Next Ducati Monster 2014 - Moto.it | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

(In Italian - Translated by Google)We will show you the first pictures of the new Monster. Disguised and covered with adhesive strips, still leaves a glimpse truly monstrous forms. There is so much Diavel and a nice liquid-cooled desmo

Images are trying to hide as much as possible, but it is easy to believe that the new Monster pushed by the liquid-cooled engine will see the birth within the next two years. The prototype is in fact at an advanced stage of development, not too far from its industrialization. The liquid-cooled engine is not new on the Monster . He made his debut in 2001 on the peppery version S4 equipped with the 916 engine with 104 horsepower. In 2003 came the S4R 113 horsepower, which rose to over 130 in 2006 (998 engine). The following year he touched the beautiful S4RS inspire its monsteristi around the world: the power did not change, but came Ohlins suspension and radial calipers. Since 2008, the Monster range has always been combined with the Desmo air-cooled engines . It was a choice essentially commercial , a version with a more powerful engine, liquid-cooled, would surely have cannibalized another bike Ducati branded , the Streetfighter. latter, unlike the glorious Monster S4 and S4RS, never did really break the heart of Ducati. No wonder then the move today for the Borgo Panigale.

Vincent Around America

Vincent Around America | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

My buddy Burt Welleford is taking a journey around the country on his third-generation Vincent Black Shadow. He is doing this to raise awareness for The Shriners Hospitals for Children, which provide FREE healthcare services to children across North America. In addition to the fact that their goal is helping children, he chose to support them because they are able to spend 91% of all donations on actual services.

His route will take him west from Atlanta, GA and Clockwise around the borders of the lower 48 states of the U.S., ending back in Atlanta. With a trip like that he needed more storage than his bike could provide. We donated our services to Burt by fixing up his bike and adding some storage options for him.

If you are near the edge of the country, rider or not, join him along the way. We will be keeping up with him here and you can go to his site vincentaroundamerica.com to follow his trip.

Thanks to Lincoln Electric for their support!

The Ducati scrambler Ducati doesnt make

By Alan Cathcart | 6/12/2013 11:02 AM

For the past quarter of a century Umberto Borile has labored to create a series of single-cylinder streetbikes bearing his name, powered by his own air-cooled single-cam four-valve engine based on the World Championship- winning 500cc GM Speedway motor. Until recently, Umberto effectively constructed each handmade example himself in his one-man workshop, which resulted in expensive prices for what were basically freshly minted masterpieces. No two Borile bikes have been the same.

But now the Moto Borile marque, which made its debut in 1988, has been restructured on a more commercial basis, with Umberto entering into 50/50 partnership with the Bassi family at the end of 2010 to form a new company - Umberto Borile & Co....

A Beginners Guide To Motorcycle Gear - RideApart

A Beginners Guide To Motorcycle Gear - RideApart | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

Just getting started riding motorcycles? Here’s everything you need to know about riding gear — helmets, jackets, gloves, boots and such — in one digestible package.

One of the most frequent enquiries we get here at RideApart isn’t about which motorcycle to buy or how to learn to ride, but what gear to buy and wear once you’ve accomplished all that. Here’s the info you need to make smart decisions, to be more comfortable, safer and, hopefully, save some money in the process.

Why You Need Good Gear
The fastest human in the world is Ussain Bolt. During the 100 meter sprint, he peaks at 27.78mph. If he falls going that speed, he’ll likely sustain serious injury. The human body simply didn’t evolve to go any faster, which is why even falling off a horse (Guinness World Record top speed: 43.97mph) can lead to death.

Our friend Scott is what most people would consider a stylish young man. The other day, he had a 70mph get off in the kind of gear that works almost as well on a bike as it does in a bar. Did the skinny jeans and the armor he stitched into a jacket himself actually hold up? — Ed.

Range Rover v/s Ducati Multistrada

Range Rover v/s Ducati Multistrada | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

The Range Rover and Multistrada are both machines meant to take you beyond your everyday city lives. They’re meant to explore the spirit of Mother Earth. So, that’s what we did!

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. We were meant to face intense heat, a lifeless land, and be left with huge boils on our skin – all of which was to be accompanied by an unending view of misery. We were to be in the largest salt flat known to man – the Great Rann of Kutch. The Rann maybe a harsh and uninspiring desert, but it has a colourful and rich history, which we wanted to learn more about. We wanted to immerse ourselves in its sheer beauty and walk on the land that was once part of the Arabian Sea – but is now one of the most lifeless places on Earth. We wanted to chat with the locals and understand more about its forgotten past. We wanted to talk to them about the Ghaggar River and the famous Rann Utsav. We wanted to stand and just gape in amazement at the still unexplained ‘dancing lights’ phenomena, which is famously referred to as Chir Batti. This wasn’t planned as just another comparison feature – it was destined to be a journey through culture and history. It was supposed to be a tale of four hateful chaps trying to explore the land that they’d heard so many tales about – that would have been exceptional.

PPIHC: Carlin Dunne & Lightning Motorcycles Are the Top Bananas at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

It wasn’t the outright course record that we had hoped for, but Carlin Dunne set a superb 10’00.694 time up the mountain on his Lightning Motorcycles electric superbike, besting the top gas-bike time of the day, a 10’21.323 that was set by Bruno Langlois on his 1205cc class Ducati Multistrada 1200 S.

The first major motorsport event to see an electric motorcycle out perform its gas counterparts, the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will surely be remembered as a turning-point for the historic race, and also for motorsport in general.

The Bike That Saved Ducati

The Bike That Saved Ducati | Desmopro News | Scoop.it
For the men who clack away on adding machines or toil in the virtual hell that is an Excel spreadsheet, one Ducati motorcycle stands far above the rest: the Monster

It’s customary to praise Ducati for developing the sexiest, best-performing, and most-memorable superbikes on the planet—iconic shapes like the 851 and its smooth brother, the 888; dramatic leaps from the mundane like the 916; radical departures from orthodoxy like the controversial 999; and in-your-face technological feats like the Panigale. To name just the more recent efforts. But Ducati is more than a purveyor of dream machines, it’s also a business. And for the men who clack away on adding machines or toil in the virtual hell that is an Excel spreadsheet, one Ducati motorcycle stands far above the rest: the Monster.

Ducati has lately done an impressive job penetrating new market segments with sophisticated (and expensive) models like the Multistrada and Diavel. NASCAR’s Brickyard 400 weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will continue for years to come. The MotoGP race might not.
