Notice anything funny with Facebook lately?
So there’s this deal going on with Facebook…….
As you may or may not know already, Facebook is opting to increase revenue by asking pages (like Ducati.net and Ducati Club of South Florida, or maybe a page you run yourself) to pay to “promote” their posts. As a result, only a small percentage of people who “like” a page in order to know what info is being shared there, are actually being sent the updates now. We guess only about 20% of what used to be 100% is getting sent to people that “liked” us and used to see it up until a few weeks ago. Hey, it’s a free service and they have a business problem. But their problem doesn’t have to be our problem. So if you wish to remain in the loop, there is a simple fix.
Go to the Ducati.net Facebook Page or the DOC South Florida Page or the DesmoPro Page (or any other page you like to follow like say, Ducati) and hover your mouse over the “Liked” button, then turn on “Get Notifications.” That will fix the problem, at least new posts about the pertinant stuff we are working hard to share will receive a notification, even if it doesn’t always show up in your newsfeed. Hey, it’s better than nothing right? It’s Facebook’s call but like a lot of things they do that we don’t always love, they leave a door and we hope you take the time to use it.
For what it’s worth, the more often you comment on, share, and like posts on the pages you like, the more likely they are to show up in your feed on a regular basis.
