Paddock Rumors: Jake Zemke BACK ON THE DUCATI FOR DAYTONA!!!

Paddock Rumors: Jake Zemke BACK ON THE DUCATI FOR DAYTONA!!! | Desmopro News | Scoop.it

Here’s what we have so far. Desmo Veloce, located in Phoenix, AZ, is a newly formed performance shop specializing in Ducati performance. It’s owned and operated by longtime AMA Ducati technician Richard Boyd. Richard signed Garrett Willis to ride a Ducati for the 2013 season but last weekend while testing at Chuckwalla, Willis was injured and Desmo Veloce did not have a rider for the Daytona 200. Lucky for Richard, he worked with the 2006 Daytona 200 winner Jake Zemke last year on the Ducshop team and the call was made. Our sources tell us that Zemke who finished 6th last year and 3rd the year before in the 200 has agreed to fill in for Willis and race the Daytona 200. Jake has set pole in the past and you better believe that he’s going to be a contender.

It’s been a decade but the formula is still the same. Take one iconic race circuit, in this case Mugello, Misano or Adria, add a group of accomplished racers like Troy Bayliss, Marco Lucchinelli and others, include a passion for Ducati motorcycles and a desire to up your skill level, and stir it all together. The results are both enjoyable and a truly great vacation. Our favorite part? Doesn't matter if you know how to ride at all…

We have attended this school and find it to be quite unlike a standard racing school. Especially if you live somewhere besides Italy the experience of the school coupled with the culture, food and iconic tracks and instructors make this a really great "learning vacation"

Ducati draws holiday bikers to Yas Marina Circuit - The National | Desmopro News | Scoop.it
The Ducati Riders Experience offers biker tourists the chance to merge hobby with holiday.

As the winter chill and gloom starts to set in to more northerly countries and snow takes hold on the ground, people's thoughts there tend to wander towards vacationing in more sunny climes; of lying on a beach, book in hand, the sun warming their bodies with the soft sound of rolling tides lapping the sand. Ahhh, bliss.
And some have other ideas of vacation bliss; some need a bit more adrenalin. And a lot more noise....

Vicki Smith for Ducati.net's insight:

First time the DRE was hosted outside of Europe and the first time the Ducati's rode the whole Yas circuit under the lights.
