Cafe Racer TV season three kicked off last Thursday with a crazy cool Ducati build, the first one the show has ever done) that started at the NCR race shop in Bologna with a box of ultra special motor parts and ended as a gold spangled Ducati instant classic. This week Cafe Racer wraps up the Desmopro build with the test that inspired the project – the chance to have two ex-factory Ducati riders put it thru it’s paces and test the validity of the bike and it’s builder. Tonight – Thursday April, 26th, 2012 Cafe Racer TV Velocity Channel 8pm EST Delete the scoop?

Cafe 31 Ducati build will be featured on Cafe Racer TV Tonight, Thursday April 19th, 8pm EST, Velocity Channel Don’t miss the first all Ducati build ever done for Café Racer TV. Season three kicks off tonight with two shows back to back featuring one of the most unusual Ducati’s you will ever see. (and answers the question, that until now, now one was asking – what happens when you mix an 860GT with a Desmosedici RR?) Trust us, the result is awesome! In the process CRTV visits, Bologna, the Ducati factory and the most historic Ducati tuning workshop in the world, the home of Rino Caracchi, founder of NCR About the Café 31: Builder – DesmoPro, Rich Lambrechts Best described as a true renaissance man whose talent spans the full gamut from machine work, to pinstripes and paint. Rich Lambrechts love of standout machines spans back to his childhood, in Detroit, Michigan where he grew up watching both his grandfathers at work at the Packard automobile factory. Café 31 was born in the history of the Italian brand, and then mated with the most state of the art components available to produce a machine as capable on the track as on the street. It’s a tribute to Cook Neilson, Phil Schilling, Reno Carrachi and Giorgio Nepoti, four men all Ducati racing legend’s and personal friends. Desmopro builds absolutely accurate restorations of Italian machines, destined for museums, as well as specialized builds like Café 31 and “Deja Blue” which can be seen in the entrance of the Barber museum in Leeds, AL. I'm sure many Ducati fans will be looking at this motorcycle with a confused look on their face. In true Cafe Racer style this custom isn't made using just one bike, in fact this Ducati is an amalgamation of components from almost every decade of the Italian manufacturers history. Ducati restoration specialists DesmoPro built "Cafe 31" for Season 3 of Velocity's Cafe Racer TV and it's easily one of my favourites from the show to date. Cafe 31 is powered by a 904cc mid 70's Desmo Supersport motor with period correct, NCR performance valves, cams and pistons. Mikuni 39mm flat side carbs feed fuel to each cylinder and a custom DesmoPro stainless 2 into 1 exhaust let's you know that there's a big angry Italian approaching. DesmoPro owners Rich Lambrechts and Vicki Smith wanted the Ducati to handle as well as any modern Superbike so special attention was paid to the 1975 860GT frame. Extensive work was done to reduce overall weight and improve geometry including reducing the rake from 31 to 25 degrees and the fabrication of a custom aluminium subframe....
