Apparently 20 tons of weight moving 200 meters will store about 10 KW/hours of electrical energy.

it always amazes me on the innovative ideas that the bright minds of today are coming up with. everybody has heard about the alternative energy in solar panels but they take it a step further. addressing the flaw in solar panels and working to improve the storage of energy. the only section i would ask to be elaborated is the cost and installation aspects due to the vagueness of "relatively cheap"
