What Higher Ed Wishes Businesses Knew | Designing eLearning Curriculum | Scoop.it

By adapting our curriculum to focus on providing the skills millennials need to succeed in the business world and in life – bringing businesses directly into the classroom, incorporating more technology and social media, and developing students’ hard and soft skills – we will match businesses and their needs point for point.

How to Make MOOCs Work

How to Make MOOCs Work | Designing eLearning Curriculum | Scoop.it

For MOOCs to work, a couple of things need to happen. First, MOOC providers must figure out how they can package their products for credential-granting institutions. In turn, a given institution must determine how, where -- and if -- MOOCs fit into an institution's general competitive advantage.  That will depend on the nature of the institution.  A top-tiered research institution employing renowned faculty of its own would probably have no place for MOOCs. In fact, such institutions are the very ones exporting their products to institutions on lower tiers of the higher education hierarchy.

How To Create A Screensaver From A PowerPoint Presentation | Designing eLearning Curriculum | Scoop.it

Whatever the reason may be, you can easily convert your PowerPoint presentation slides into a screensaver. There are many third-party applications that offer conversion and some even charge some money for it. However, if you follow the instructions in this post, you won’t have to pay or download any application or program. You can easily set a slide or two—or even your whole presentation—into a screensaver that you can always see on your desktop.

▶ Understanding the Brain: A work in progress - Professor Keith Kendrick

How billions of interconnected cells in the brain can interpret and regulate all our bodily functions as well as mediate our experiences of interactions with and responses to the world around us is a huge and fascinating question that many different disciplines have attempted to tackle. This lecture considers what we have learned so far about the principles of neural encoding and how they may begin to explain our memories, emotions and conscious awareness.

The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and...

Gresham College has been giving free public lectures since 1597. This tradition continues today with all of our five or so public lectures a week being made available for free download from our website. (http://www.gresham.ac.uk)

I think the taxonomy is in a constant flow. One needs knowledge to begin to create and continues to acquire it as the creation process moves forward. This engages the other levels through constant evaluating, analyzing, synthesizing, etc. It is a recursive process rather than a linerar one.
