I think that makes us create 3D animation making impossible things in the past and that today would be very expensive to build them into reality, hence the usefulness of 3D animation!

Future production with the development of 3D printing will enable the development of small businesses and  the decomposition of large industries while reducing the energy consumption. definitely with the addition of green manufacturing and construction plant producers.

High security keys can now be duplicated with a 3D printer | Tavern Keepers

High security keys can now be duplicated with a 3D printer | Tavern Keepers | Design and Technology |

On Saturday, MIT students plan to publicly release software that allows Primus keys to be duplicated with a 3D printer. Primus keys are marketed for high security use including government buildings and detention centers.

According to one of the software’s creators:

“ you need is a friend that works there, or to take a picture of their key, or even a picture of the key hanging off their belt,” says Lawrence. “Pirating keys is becoming like pirating movies.

Someone still has to get the information in the first place, but then everyone can get a copy.”

He goes onto say that the cost of printing a key can be as little as $5. He also states that the Primus keys are just one brand and that other high security keys are just as vulnerable. If this can be done with high security keys, normal keys must be just as vulnerable. I can certainly see car thieves hanging out near a workplace, gym, or other place that people return to frequently.

As long as they can get a good picture of a car key, they can duplicate it and easily steal the car. I don’t see why it wouldn’t also work if they could get a picture of your house key before it was inserted into the lock. A 3D printer is an amazingly powerful tool.

As the technology progresses, there are applications that will change the world. For instance, NASA is finding that 3D printers can allow astronauts to create replacement parts during space missions.

However, like any tool, what can be used to do great things can also do a lot of damage in the wrong hands.
