I like some of these ideas. I'm thinking we could have students make podcast booktalks and have QR codes linking to them in the books or on a display or around the school. Hmm...kids can't use their phones at school, yet. Well, I can always put links to them in our catalog and on the website.

Alfredo Calderon's comment, June 19, 2013 3:46 AM
Coincido contigo Liliana, "aprender haciendo" y en el contexto o entorno escolar es mejor para que ocurra el aprendizaje formal deseado.
Vianey R DL Ríos's comment, June 19, 2013 9:54 AM
Si totalmente de acuerdo, es implementar el aprendizaje "con" las Tic, usándolas y ubicándolas en un contexto, no es aprender "de" las Tic.

This article raises some excellent and innovative ideas on how to use an Ipad in the classroom to promote technology supporing learning. This example shows how a young student can produce an activity like explaining a system. The explanation is done in a far more articulate way then producing the same understanding through the use of traditional tools, it allows students who may not have great writing skills to show off their understanding of a subject. ACARA states that 'Engaging students with developing and evaluating ideas and design in alignment with the Australian National Curriculum: Technology' (ACARA, 2013) This is obviously meeting the engagement element required in our Technology requirements in today's education program. In my opinion if this tool is available and can be utilised in such a way as to engage students into thinking and producing exciting ideas and concepts then we must support this in our education system

Integrating technology in your teaching requires beforehand planning and structuring. It also predisposes the existence of a set of learning goals you  want to achieve through the integration of this technology in the class. So, the process is highly structured and pre-arranged and nothing is left for " happy accidents ".

Amanda Rogers's comment, May 4, 2013 3:11 PM
This is a great tool to refer to for integrating technology into lessons whilst encorporating learning goals and allowing for HOT. It is well structured and prevents lesving steps out.
Kia Sowden's comment, May 10, 2013 10:01 PM
I think many teachers struggle to truly integrate technology into their classrooms. I believe their is the common misconception that if you are 'using' technology you are integrating it into your teaching and learning. However there is a difference between the two.
