Great artical by the way although I still think the most important step is still missing from this list which is executive sponsorship, if your Information Governance strategy is not associated with the overall executive goals for the organisation then it will fail. I have seen time and time again this step omitted and when it came around to budget saving without this sponsorship these programs would be easily removed.

Great presentation material in here, a number of these things are happening already, MDM as a Service, Cloud, and CDI and PIM. Talend Included in the Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of ... SYS-CON Media (press release) (MDM & Data Governance Summit)-- Talend, the global integration software leader, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc.
Mark Mitchell's insight:
Interesting movement in this chart surprised that Talend and Tibco are placed quite high compaired to the big players in this market. Curious how we now have the entire Master Data subject broken down into multiple sectors. Good to see that MDM is that important in many companies view that break downs between Customer Master vs Vendor Master vs Asset Master etc is needed!
