WaveNet: A Generative Model for Raw Audio | DeepMind

WaveNet: A Generative Model for Raw Audio | DeepMind | Data is big | Scoop.it
This post presents WaveNet, a deep generative model of raw audio waveforms. We show that WaveNets are able to generate speech which mimics any human voice and which sounds more natural than the best existing Text-to-Speech systems, reducing the gap with human performance by over 50%.

We also demonstrate that the same network can be used to synthesize other audio signals such as music, and present some striking samples of automatically generated piano pieces.

Deep Learning Summer School, Montreal 2016 - VideoLectures - VideoLectures.NET

Deep Learning Summer School, Montreal 2016 - VideoLectures - VideoLectures.NET | Data is big | Scoop.it
Deep neural networks that learn to represent data in multiple layers of increasing abstraction have dramatically improved the state-of-the-art for speech recognition, object recognition, object detection, predicting the activity of drug molecules, and many other tasks. Deep learning discovers intricate structure in large datasets by building distributed representations, either via supervised, unsupervised or reinforcement learning. The Deep Learning Summer School 2016 is aimed at graduate students and industrial engineers and researchers who already have some basic knowledge of machine learning (and possibly but not necessarily of deep learning) and wish to learn more about this rapidly growing field of research. Note: Slide synchronization will soon be added.

TensorFlow on mobile app for Mobile Poets | Data is big | Scoop.it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bkZPpniYdo In TensorFlow for Poets, I showed how you could train a neural network to recognize objects using your own custom images. The next step is getting that model into users' hands, so in this tutorial I'll show you what you need to do to run it in your own iOS application. I'm assuming you've…

Using TensorFlow with R

Using TensorFlow with R | Data is big | Scoop.it
TensorFlow
TensorFlow™ is an open source software library for numerical computation using data flow graphs. Nodes in the graph represent mathematical operations, while the graph edges represent the multidimensional data arrays (tensors) communicated between them. The flexible architecture allows you to deploy computation to one or more CPUs or GPUs in a desktop, server, or mobile device with a single API. TensorFlow was originally developed by researchers and engineers working on the Google Brain Team within Google’s Machine Intelligence research organization for the purposes of conducting machine learning and deep neural networks research, but the system is general enough to be applicable in a wide variety of other domains as well.
ukituki's insight:
Using TensorFlow with R The TensorFlow API is composed of a set of Python modules that enable constructing and executing TensorFlow graphs. The tensorflow package provides access to the complete TensorFlow API from within R. Here’s a simple example of making up some data in two dimensions and then fitting a line to it:

The Neural Network Zoo - The Asimov Institute

The Neural Network Zoo - The Asimov Institute | Data is big | Scoop.it
With new neural network architectures popping up every now and then, it’s hard to keep track of them all. Knowing all the abbreviations being thrown around (DCIGN, BiLSTM, DCGAN, anyone?) can be a bit overwhelming at first. So I decided to compose a cheat sheet containing many of those architectures. Most of these are neural networks, some are completely …
