OSX Daily: How to Access & Use the Undo & Redo Buttons on iPad

OSX Daily: How to Access & Use the Undo & Redo Buttons on iPad | Daring Apps, QR Codes, Gadgets, Tools, & Displays | Scoop.it

"Much like OS X and Windows on the desktop, iOS on the iPad has an “Undo” and “Redo” option. Undo does just what it sounds like, it undoes the last text based action. For example, if you typed out a sentence but decided it wasn’t what you wanted to say, you could hit “Undo” and it would instantly disappear. Redo is also fairly self explanatory, as it redoes the prior text action that was just undone. For example, if you wanted to restore that sentence you typed out but made disappear with “Undo”, then hitting “Redo” would make it appear again."

How To Do Green Screen Photography on an iPad at School

How To Do Green Screen Photography on an iPad at School | Daring Apps, QR Codes, Gadgets, Tools, & Displays | Scoop.it
There are lots of great learning opportunities when you use green screen effects in the classroom. I’ve written about some of those before, but almost all of them involved green screen movies. What about green screen photography? Is that possible on an iPad? It is, because there’s an app for that.

Recently I was reminded of the ability to do green screen photography when I read a blog post by Dr. Wesley Fryer. He did a green screen photo booth at the Fall Festival of the school he works at in Oklahoma. Great idea. So how do you do it? It all starts with the Green Screen app by DoInk. The rest is easy! Here’s how it works.

Library Eye Candy from Joyce Valenza!

Library Eye Candy from Joyce Valenza! | Daring Apps, QR Codes, Gadgets, Tools, & Displays | Scoop.it

Joyce Valenza writes: "There’s redecorating and there’s just plain old decorating.

When it comes time for a bit of library refreshing, in the form of posters and bulletin boards, there are so many wonderful shared options. In the spirit of fall refreshing, I thought I’d refresh on of my posts, Fall decorating: a round-up of smart (and free) posters, from a few years back.

As I mentioned back then, every year, as we move back into our libraries and classrooms, we search for meaningful, inspiring, attractive visuals to fill our display cases, to grace our bulletin boards, to embed on our websites and most importantly, to engage and inspire those who visit."

Snapchat Essentials for Curious Newbies

Snapchat Essentials for Curious Newbies | Daring Apps, QR Codes, Gadgets, Tools, & Displays | Scoop.it

Snapchat is arguably the most popular social media app around. But if you’re one of those folks who’s downloaded it to your smartphone and you're still not quite sure what to do (and you don’t want to ask one of the teenagers you know), here’s a quick getting-started guide to show you the basics.

What is Snapchat?

One of the things that Snapchat is best known for is the ephemeral nature of the content - you take a photo or video and send it to a friend and they have a limited number of seconds (up to 10 seconds maximum) to view the content before it disappears.

Before you send your snap, you can mark it up with text, stickers, or special lenses that give your selfie a silly look (big cartoon eyes, puking rainbows… it sounds odd but quickly becomes strangely charming)....
