This college instructor has a Master’s degree — and she’s still living in poverty | Daily Crew | Scoop.it
Professor Bolin, or Brianne, as she tells her students to call her, might as well be invisible. When I arrive at the building at Columbia College in Chicago where she teaches composition, I ask the assistant at the front desk how to locate her. “Bolin?” she asks, sounding puzzled, as she scans the faculty list. “I’m sorry, I don’t see that name.” There is no Brianne Bolin to be found, even though she’s taught four classes a year here for the past five years. She doesn’t have a phone extension to her name, never mind an office.

Kayleb Forsythe's curator insight, January 8, 2:39 PM

The newspaper, Charlie Hebdo, was targeted by gunmen Wednesday and it is being reported that 12 people were killed. The publication has had controversy in the past with its cartoons lampooning Muslims and Islamic traditions. Four cartoonists were among those killed. Reports claim the gunmen shouted “God is great!” and “We have avenged the Prophet!” during the attack.

Shortly after news broke Wednesday morning that three gunmen attacked a French satirical newspaper, Breitbart columnist Ben Shapiro decided to use the tragic event to take shots at President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

I do not think it is fair for people to put this tragedy on Obama.  I do not like Obama and do not think he is a good president what so ever, however, it is another thing on his plate that adds stress and will redirect his focus off of what needs to get done.  Being a president of the most powerful country in the world would be stressful.
