Cyberbullying Solutions At SXSW | Truth Wins Out | Cyberbullying | Scoop.it
L Orange's insight:

"Black and white is bullshit. These stories can be quite complex as there is not a line that divides bullies from those being bullied. We all have the capacity to be negative all the time. This is a people hating on other people issue not a bad person and victim issue."

An article which considers programs that address youth issues and why they are successful, and how we can address issues of cyberbullying in a similar manner.

Kids deserve the truth about cyberbullying | NetFamilyNews.org

Kids deserve the truth about cyberbullying | NetFamilyNews.org | Cyberbullying | Scoop.it
Give young people the facts – not the hype – about cyberbullying, and cyberbullying goes down, research shows.
L Orange's insight:

Interesting research (done with middle schools in the States, years 5-8) which shows that in schools where researchers actively advertised the high rates of non-bullying, they found that bullying behaviors declined. The theory is that if you tell kids that most kids are being nice to each other, the rest will. A reminder about the power of expectations.

Cyber-Bullying and Young People

How problematic is the lack of accountability etc to the kinds of mentalities young people are developing about acceptable ways to treat people online?
