The 2014 German IT Security Report was released by the Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI translated as Federal Office for Information Security) highlighting a cyber-attack that caused damage in an steel facility in Germany. Although more information will be needed for full analysis the source is reliable and the impact is significant.

China's Checkmate: S-400 Looms Large Over Taiwan

Taiwan's F-16s face a growing threat from China's arsenal of surface-to-air missiles (SAMs). The latest and gravest is the Russian sale of 400-kilometer-range S-400 Triumf road-mobile SAM systems to China.

 

..... with a range of 400 kilometers and fielded in Fujian Province, the SAM system will be able to cover the whole of Taiwan airspace, thus finally solving the “problem of air superiority for the Chinese.”

A very important viewpoint raised in the article - we have the majority of cyber professionals dealing with the tick box compliance on the Enterprise side - yet the potential big impact attacks could occur on the real time  side - and the majority of cyber professionals are unlikely to understand the first thing about - SCADA / DCS, HMIs / RTUs /PLCs / Real Time protocols / ISA99 / IEC62443 etc.....woefull
