‘Arrow’ Behind the Scenes Video: ‘The Biggest Fight Scene in the History of TV’

‘Arrow’ Behind the Scenes Video: ‘The Biggest Fight Scene in the History of TV’ | CW's Arrow | Scoop.it

"The CW’s superhero show Arrow is a proven hit for the network, and it’s that rare comic book adaptation that is managing to please just about everybody. To no one’s surprise, it has been renewed for a season 3, and on top of that, it has introduced audiences to Barry Allen (a.k.a. The Flash) ahead of his own spinoff.

While The Flash will have a different tone from Arrow – more sci-fi and fantastical in tone, rather than Arrow‘s Batman Begins-inspired “gritty” pseudo-realism. This difference raises the question of just how The Flash will handle his adversaries, considering the character’s super speed makes hand-to-hand combat somewhat irrelevant.

For Oliver Queen/Green Arrow/The Hood, however, a street-fight throw-down is all a part of the job. Indeed, the marvelously-staged fight scenes are one of the best parts of Arrow, and now star Stephen Amell and veteran fight choreographer James ‘Bam Bam’ Bamford take us behind-the-scenes as they prepare for what they call “the biggest fight scene in the history of the show.” Watch the video at the top of the page."

Arrow Season 2 Spoilers: Roy's Place on Team Arrow Causes Problems With Thea; The Huntress Returns

Arrow Season 2 Spoilers: Roy's Place on Team Arrow Causes Problems With Thea; The Huntress Returns | CW's Arrow | Scoop.it

"Many "Arrow" fans were happy after Team Arrow finally added Roy to its ranks a couple weeks ago. Roy had already been heading down a rocky road with Thea. He was lying to her about his super strength and being injected. She was confused about how he was able to simply get up after a whole shelf fell on him. Their relationship hasn't been roses and rainbows.

Well, according to EOnline, now that Roy's a part of Team Arrow - and he knows the Arrow's true identity - the relationship will continue in its downhill direction.

"He has to continue to lie to her, and he told her that he wasn't going to lie to her anymore, which was obviously a lie," Colton Haynes said according to the website. "If you're a fan of 'Dawson's Creek', and the relationships in "Dawson's Creek', then you will know how the relationship is going to go between Roy and Thea."

Looking later into the season, The Huntress is returning to exact her final vengeance on her father. Unfortunately, the elder Lance sister somehow gets involved.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells TVLine.com that while The Huntress is in the midts of going after her father, "Laurel gets caught in the crossfire"..

Arrow Binge-Watch: 5 Surprises And Why It Lives Up To The Hype

Arrow Binge-Watch: 5 Surprises And Why It Lives Up To The Hype | CW's Arrow | Scoop.it

So, I did it. I told myself that I would marathon through all of Arrow over the winter hiatus from start to finish in December in time to be caught up on the CW series when it returned in January, and I managed to do it with time to spare. Hype was the main reason I set out to check this series out, as my interest in the show was pretty minimal before that, but I’d heard enough good things about the show from people whose opinions I trust — our own Jesse Carp among them — and wanted to see if a TV viewer with limited interest in comic books or knowledge of the DC universe could get into a drama like this. The verdict is in, and I’m an Arrow fan. It hooked me, mask, arrows and quiver.

Enjoying the show didn’t entirely surprise me. As I said, I had it on good authority that the series was not only good, but getting even better in its second season. But not knowing exactly what to expect, there were a few things that pleasantly surprised me. Before we get to that, for those who haven’t seen it, the short and sweet synopsis is that Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, a billionaire playboy who spent five years marooned on an island after a shipwreck and returns to his city presenting himself as the same partying, spoiled bachelor. But he’s secretly taken on a vigilante role, determined to right the wrongs of Starling. There’s more to it than that, and I’ll get into that with this list. But for the sake of newbies curious about Arrow, this article is spoiler free.

Here are the five things that surprised me most about Arrow, which help explain why this show lives up to the hype...

You really don't need to know anything about the DC universe.

I feel like this point needs to be made first, because, apart from knowing some general things about DC Comics — Mostly Superman and Batman movie-provided trivia — my knowledge of the original story is pretty limited. I was as aware of Green Arrow as I was of Green Hornet, Green Lantern and Green Goblin, but I’m honestly not sure I could’ve pulled Arrow out of a line-up if his weapons weren't showing. And I’d heard enough about Arrow to know there are a lot of DC tie-ins with this series, so I was a bit concerned that I was going to be in the dark every time a new character was introduced. That hasn’t been an issue at all.

Arrow’s Felicity Smoak as Oracle? “Hopefully We’ll Get There,” But Not Yet, Says Producer | Comicbook.com

Arrow’s Felicity Smoak as Oracle? “Hopefully We’ll Get There,” But Not Yet, Says Producer | Comicbook.com | CW's Arrow | Scoop.it

"Since Black Canary joined the cast of Arrow, some fans have speculated that it could lead to Caity Lotz’s Canary being joined by Jessica de Gouw’s Huntress to form that base of the Birds of Prey, DC’s all-female, street-level vigilante team.

The third key member of that team for years was Barbara Gordon, then acting as Oracle after she was paralyzed from the waist down and could no longer be Batgirl. Barbara, of course, is seemingly off-limits since her father is the lead character in Fox’s upcoming Gotham pilot (played by Southland‘s Ben McKenzie), but, as a reporter pointed out during a roundtable ahead of last week’s episode “Heir to the Demon,” Arrow does have Felicity Smoak.

Again, fans have speculated for some time that Felicity might step into the Oracle role (one filled, albeit without using the name “Oracle,” by Green Arrow’s eventual love interest Chloe Sullivan in Smallville)–and so it wasn’t surprising that someone asked producers at the roundtable whether Felicity would play a role in the upcoming seventeenth episode of the season, titled “Birds of Prey.”

“She plays a role, but not in the way you’re hoping,” said Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim. “Hopefully we’ll get there–that occurred to us as well but we didn’t have an opportunity to do that in [Episode] 17.”

'Arrow' set photos tease a battle between Black Canary and The Huntress

'Arrow' set photos tease a battle between Black Canary and The Huntress | CW's Arrow | Scoop.it

""Arrow" is currently on a small break on CW, but the cast is still busy filming new episodes. On Feb. 8, YVRShoots shared some new photos from the set of the series, and two of the women in Oliver Queen's life will soon battle each other.

Sara Lance is the new woman in his life, but The Huntress did share some time with Oliver during season one. She will be back for episode 17, which is titled "Birds of Prey." In fact, these photos and details tease that The Huntress will kidnap Laurel, and her sister will be forced to come to her rescue. Laurel was not too happy about the return of her sister, so this could help thaw the ice between them some.

Oliver Queen might be ready to settle down with just one woman though. Spoilers Guide shared a new spoiler from Marc Guggenheim. He shared a dialogue teaser on his Twitter for the next episode, "Arrow" episode 2x14 titled "Time of Death." The episode will air later this month when the series returns from its break.

Oliver will soon tell a woman she 'will always be his girl.'

We have made fun of Green Arrow's Boxing Glove Arrow for too
