Syria Iocono is a former United Airlines flight attendant. she was on a flight home to flordia sitting beside three men she described as respectable and well spoken. They gave her gifts and talked to her for the whole three and a half hour flight. Little did she know they would be responsible for the deaths of oer 3,000 Americans.
on the morning of September 11th 2001 she got over 30 calls makinf sure she was okay. immediatly she turned on her tv and watched the truth evolve. all 65 passenger on the flight were killed. including the pilot she had ate dinner with just weeks before. In the moment history is made, it is typically made in terror and confusion. It is up to the people that were there, the witnesses, to have the presenceof mind to manufacture such a force. the photographer has had it since he was a young boy. When he was twenty-one years old, he was standing right behind Bobby Kennedy when Bobby Kennedy was shot in the head. His jacket was spattered with Kennedy's blood, but he jumped on a table and shot pictures of Kennedy's open and ebbing eyes, and then of Ethel Kennedy crouching over her husband and begging photographers begging him not to take pictures.

Scrool down to video "Flight 93 logbook"
Ashley Sosinski's comment, March 13, 2014 9:50 PM
Like every morning, flight 93 took off from New York to San Fransisco. Just 45 minutes in to flight, the plane was hijacked. Flight 93 was in air when other 3 planes had crashed, making this planes fate appearent to the passengers. Lorainne Bay was a flight attendant on flight 93. Air phone and cell phone calls let the world know that the passengers had planned a strategy of resistence. Passengers tried to get into the cockpit, but it was a failed attempt. After the struggle the plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, PA. Though the plane was destroyed, a few objects were found intact. Lorainne Bay's Flight attendant handbook was found, which can now be found in the Smithsonian mueseum. the book reeked of jet fuel and flames according to Kathy Stanchak (a fellow flight attendant and best friend to Lorainne). The objects like the book and parts of the airplane prove the harsh reality and the history of our nation.

Since Al-Qaeda did ot have the capacity to obliterate the Us military system, they started to target symbolic areas. The World trade Center was a symbol of the globalization America has achieved not to mention the economic power and prosperity of the United States. As the headquarter for American military system Department of defense serves as a symbol of the military power the US. As far as the intentions of why they overtook flight 93 are still unknown. It is believed that the plane was headed to the center of American legislative government, the capital building.
Al-Qaeda hoped that they could promote fear and insecurity by showing that they could attack these symbols of power. With giving the Us citizens newfound fear, they hoped that they would start to support the political and religious ideas promoted by Al-Qaeda in the Middle East and Muslim World.
Ashley Sosinski's comment, February 20, 2014 6:26 PM
One of the most frequently asked questions about the terroristic attacks based on Al-Qaeda is, "why does Afghanistan involved?" The answer is simple, Al-Qaeda is headquarted in Afghanistan. The extremeist groups own and operate training camps for the members. The Al-Qaeda members live openly in the country with support and approval of the Islamist group that ruled the country, the Taliban.
President Bush adressed the media on September 20, 2001 in a speech to a joint session of congress. He stated: “Any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.” There was no distinction made between a harboring state and the terrorists it was harboring. Less than a month after the 9/11 attacks, "Operation Enduring Freedom" was launched after the Taliban refused to handover the terrorist and close the training camps or else an american attack would quickly be knocking at their front door.
Ashley Sosinski's comment, February 20, 2014 6:29 PM
The World Trade Center was a 16-acre complex set in lower Manhatten that contained seven buildings, a large plaza, an underground shopping mall that connected six of the buildings. Standing tall in the center were the twin towers, considered the centerpieces of the WTC. The entire complex was destroyed in a terrorist attack, known as 9/11

One of the latest warnings to airlines about shoe-bombings are hieghtened. threats made by Al-Qaeda's Yemen based affiliate who's leaders could have found a new way of getting explosives on to airlines.
US homeland security authorities issued new warned to airlines that fly from over seas or direct flights to america about a man named Ibrahim Hassan al-Asir. Al-Asir is a Saudi Arabian man who is known for his savvy ways of innovating bombs for airlines. He is known for hiding explosives in shoes or clothing and it is rumored that he has came up with a new bomb design to evade airport security measures.
The sources said the warnings were sent to airlines flying to the Us from almost thirty different airports. Though it may sound extreme, we must remember these are EXTREMIST.
The warning, however, is not related to the olympic games in Sochi, Russia whatsoever. it applies more to international flights incoming to the US rather than domestic outbound flights to foreign destenations.
It is consistent with concerns security agencies have about militants trying to smuggle explosives onto airplanes in shoes, cosmetics or liquids. Earlier this month, U.S. authorities advised airlines flying to Russia for the Sochi Winter Olympics to watch out for toothpaste tubes that could hold bomb-making ingredients and could be smuggled through airport security checkpoints.
