Tom Kuhlman:

PowerPoint is hot. This makes sense because it’s the most popular elearning tool out there. It’s easy to learn. And once you understand how to use it to build rapid elearning courses, the sky’s the limit.

In an earlier post I listed all of the ones that dealt with PowerPoint. It’s a good one to bookmark. Because it was so popular I decided to make another post that highlights all the ones that include free PowerPoint templates or other free assets.

The Tin Can API - SCORM could do more.

Uploaded by RusticiSoftware on Sep 14, 2011
Learn more about the Tin Can API at http://scorm.com/tincan . SCORM is over 10 years old. ADL (the keepers of SCORM) asked us to research what the next-generation e-learning specification could/should look like.

We've been gathering information from the entire e-learning community about what you'd like to see in the next specification. Many of you already know about this, and many of you have participated. We have our solution — it's the Tin Can API.

The Tin Can API solves a lot of problems that older specifications suffered from, but it also adds new capabilities, new business cases, and new ways of handling content. The Tin Can API fuses a decade of collective e-learning experiences with a decade of technological advances.

How to we establish a learning trail across the Internet?

Will TinCan allow us to share acomplishments perfomed inside and outside of traditional CMS?

Free Assets from the E-Learning Community » The Rapid eLearning Blog | Current Updates | Scoop.it

Most people aren’t active participants in the elearning community. That’s OK. No one expects you to sit on the couch, eating bonbons, and chatting in the community. Most of us tend to use the community for quick help and then we go back to work.

Not being an active participant means that it’s possible you miss some really good stuff in the community. So in today’s post I am highlighting some of the free assets that your peers have recently shared in the elearning community.

5 Ways Tin Can API Revolutionizes eLearning

5 Ways Tin Can API Revolutionizes eLearning | Current Updates | Scoop.it
Do these sound familiar?

Brian watches a tutorial on how to fix a problem in Photoshop.

Jane emails a co-worker in another building to solve a work issue.

None of these experiences happened inside an eLearning course or classroom, yet they form a bigger picture of how we really learn at work… 90% informally and outside of traditional training. With the Tin Can API, all of these experiences can be tracked and accounted for. eLearning and training are entering a new age.
