7) Inbound has shifted where marketers spend resources, and enables them to work smarter

Rim Riahi's curator insight, April 25, 2013 7:10 AM

Today, we’re excited to share the 2013 State of Inbound Marketing Report. In this fifth anniversary edition, our largest survey ever, we asked 3,339 marketing professionals from 128 countries to share their perspectives on everything from strategy and organizational alignment to budget and channel management. Because of the breadth of survey respondents and depth of questions asked, some results may look different from what you're used to from past years. We're excited about how robust a data set we had to work with, and think these insights are the most revelatory on the current state of inbound marketing.

And here are 10 quick insights from the report, followed by 10 bigger takeaways that we found to be quite remarkable.

A group of French banks are testing a new payment method that combines a smart payment card, biometrics and mid-range contactless communication. With a simple touch of your finger you should soon be able to authenticate payment for your in-store purchases, eliminating the need to present cards or enter a PIN.

This new system will be tested at certain Leroy Merlin and Auchan Group stores in partnership with BNP Paribas, Banque Accord, Crédit Agricole and Crédit Mutuel Arkéa – plus MasterCard and the CB bank card group.

Infographics: More Than Meets Eye... | Current-See | Scoop.it

The human brain processes visual information much faster and digests this type of content concurrently, whereas it takes more time to break text down. So, for many, it makes more than just sense to have your complex information delivered to your target audience in the most legible format...

Infographics make good use of brain’s ability to assimilate knowledge and information through the visual medium, making tough-to-crack-data appealing. Simply put, an infographic is a carefully composed collage of images, content, charts, stats, diagrams, animations & video to graphically represent information.

Infographics are used by various quarters such as educational institutions, acadamecians, businesses, newspapers, and just anybody who are serious about putting across their point in the most simplest manner. Infographics take different forms- venn diagrams, charts, timelines, maps and more. They are not merely a design or an image or random data; their purpose should be seen from every angle.

With current technology, to actually see your route, you have to take your eyes off the road. With this augmented reality setup, the road will become your display. Car manufacturers have taken advantage of heads-up displays in the past. For example, several Cadillac models project your speed, RPM, and song playing or radio station selected, on the windshield.
