Content curation seems to be the only sanity-saving cure to information overload! Still, content marketers often face the dilemma of weighing the pros and cons of content creation versus content curation.
We have been looking at curation and creation as a two separate practices. Yet I beg to differ: content curation can give a huge boost to content creation and that is the key point I want to make in this article.
Content curation can help in refining created content in three different ways.

French startup Pearltrees just scored another $6 million to help scale up its social curation service that helps people save, sort and share what they find on the web. But with dozens of services in play, is this a bubble waiting to pop?

Robin Good writes: This looks like a very promising project, which brings together and pioners some really innovative approaches in search and discovery of content. As can be seen in the video, a Chrome extension has already been developed, helping active curator to easily collect content in a variety of formats and from very different kind of sources, into browsable collections.

Curation is already becoming an overused word but it's an increasingly important one. Not least because the way in which we discover content that we like or find useful, and how it gets in front of us or gets our attention, is changing radically. With an explosion of choice and noise, and attention becoming the new scarcity, how we choose to curate what gets that attention (or, as below, how it is curated for us) is hugely important to anyone in the business of creating content. And let's face it, that's now everybody. There is too much information online, too many pages filled with stock images and no context.
