At first I took this article badly since I believe feeds are in our future (http://scenttrail.blogspot.com/2011/09/why-feeds-are-in-your-future.html) and I am a big believer in content curation. I do grant the issue of scale poses problems (lol).
Scale, the ability to curate at an exponential rate thanks to a combination of feeds, business rules and some human oversight via exception reporting, is the promised land and this article suggest we may never reach it. At first I was disappointed, but then, on a second pass, realized we see scale in much the same way.
