Five Reasons Why Marketers FAIL on Facebook

Five Reasons Why Marketers FAIL on Facebook | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it
What content works best, what time to publish updates and how to use sponsored stories are consistent themes being discussed among nonprofit marketers.

Marty Note
Great piece that goes perfectly with a note I just made on how companies waste Social Media money (http://www.scoop.it/t/curation-revolution/p/3403673120/the-3-worst-ways-companies-waste-money-in-social-media ). In that note I shared my suspicion that the Facebook problem, no one making any money there, is as much our fault as Internet marketers as the platform creators.

This excellent article from Huffington provides the reasons why we fail in Facebook and every point here rings TRUE. If you have other tactics we IMers need to change to be successful in Facebook share your thoughts. I will grind on it to and see what I come up with.

Is Coub The next generation of moving images? Maybe [Marty Review]

Is Coub The next generation of moving images? Maybe [Marty Review] | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

Get inspired and create your own coubs - animated GIFs with sound.

Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Cool new tool helps create small animations with sound. Going to try it and see how easy it is, but looks cool. Let's hope COUB indicates innovation in video since it is still a pain to create.

Review
COUB is a cool tool with a limited applicaiton. The tools current goal is to replace the animated GIF. It achieves that goal, but the lack of looping commands (limiting the loops or plays) reduce the tool's scope to only things that form a loop.

I created a COUB out of a Jack Dorsey video, but it just becomes irratating the more it loops. I am not a big fan of automatic animation or animation without the ability to make it stop.

Until COUB adds what ever animated Gif has the ability to do, loop X times and then stop, I don't see a commercial application since it is sure to send visitors screaming away from your Ecom website.

Cool and easy to use plaything but not commercial as it stands now.

Martin: My thought on Warhol is in our network, curated times we will indeed all be famous for 15 minutues but with a twist. We will all be famous 15 times for one minute at a time :).

7 Quick Ways to Turn Your LinkedIn Profile into a Social Media Marketing Workhorse | Copyblogger | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it
In my opinion, the most powerful social media profile you can use is the LinkedIn profile. Most powerful that is, if you are looking to do more business and/or achieve your professional goals.
