Social Media in Higher Ed Alumni Relations | Merge | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

We'll discuss best practices for higher education alumni social media and which colleges are getting it right.

Marty Note
This is a slideshare from @mattmcfadden. Matt spoke at Raleigh Internet Summit today about social and SEO. He mentioned MergeWeb.com, his company, figured out how to put social shares directly in an email. I've Tweeted for more on this as it sounds cool. Matt admitted they are still testing, but the ability to fire social shares without consumption of the content behind the link sounds cool.

Thoughts this slideshare was well done. I like the idea of social as only as good as the fit for your audience. I think this is true and points to the need for persona and segmentation work.

Thank You Economy or Arrogance, Which Is Better?

Thank You Economy or Arrogance, Which Is Better? | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

Arrogance seems a consistent tactic in the uber-hot gamification segment. "Uber-hot" and arrogance seem to go together like hand in glove, but perhaps arrogance is a the most sustainable strategy.

Arrogance feels cheaper than the Thank You economy's endless give. This piece explores the question of if arrogance is sustainable. What do you think? Where do you come out on the Arrogance or Thank You debate.

7 Quick Ways to Turn Your LinkedIn Profile into a Social Media Marketing Workhorse | Copyblogger | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it
In my opinion, the most powerful social media profile you can use is the LinkedIn profile. Most powerful that is, if you are looking to do more business and/or achieve your professional goals.
