Social Media in Higher Ed Alumni Relations | Merge | Curation Revolution | Scoop.it

We'll discuss best practices for higher education alumni social media and which colleges are getting it right.

Marty Note
This is a slideshare from @mattmcfadden. Matt spoke at Raleigh Internet Summit today about social and SEO. He mentioned MergeWeb.com, his company, figured out how to put social shares directly in an email. I've Tweeted for more on this as it sounds cool. Matt admitted they are still testing, but the ability to fire social shares without consumption of the content behind the link sounds cool.

Thoughts this slideshare was well done. I like the idea of social as only as good as the fit for your audience. I think this is true and points to the need for persona and segmentation work.

I love that point Martin! I think people call it social because of the personal element to it as opposed to advertising and things like that, especially because it's so interactive in nature. Do you have a suggestion as to what to change the name to?

As someone who has just bought an iPad, I can personally appreciate its potential to become the dominant force in the digital book wars.
