Rissa Marie's insight:

OpenSSL is an open-source implementation of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) designed to provide communication security over the internet. But its vulnerability has been unveiled through a virus called the Heartbleed bug that exposes your most sensitive data to black hats waiting to get advantage of it. This widespread internet threat has been bugging the web and has been unnoticed for two years. Some preventive measures provided by an expert Mr. Djane Rey Mabelin, Syntactics Engineering Lead of Web Division are as follows. Verify your website for Heartbleed vulnerability by using http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/ tool which made Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Microsoft, Twitter and several others unaffected. Upgrade to the latest iteration of OpenSSL – OpenSSL 1.0.1g – as soon as possible if you are still using version 1.0.1 and 1.0.2-beta releases which have been known to be Heartbleed-vulnerable. It could be a pain to not be able to get back all the data that hackers acquired, the truth will always hurt however, this will serve as a lesson to everyone to be more vigilant to prevent security issues.
