STARTING WITH NECESSARY ENDINGS

STARTING WITH NECESSARY ENDINGS | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
I’m sure you’ve all heard the terms necessary evils and unnecessary roughness. I’d like to introduce a term to you from that same family of terms that former Baltimore Raven Ray Lewis introduced to me a while back. It’s a term that I don’t believe is shared as much as it should be. That term is “necessary endings”. It’s also a great book.

ARE ACADEMICS CHEATING EMOTION?

ARE ACADEMICS CHEATING EMOTION? | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
I recently had a great conversation with Tru Access speaker Ash Cash about the level of preparedness of millennials entering the workforce. The conversation took an interesting turn. We agreed that most colleges and universities do a great job of developing students academically. We also recognized, however, that there is now a need for millennials to develop and maintain a high level of cultural competence and emotional intelligence in order to thrive in today's workforce.

CONNECTIVITY TRANSCENDS TECHNOLOGY PEOPLE | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
What “Age” are we in anyway? It’s been called the Digital Age, the Information Age, and the Technology Age. Some folks have even tried to convince me that this is the Age of Aquarius… but that’s a whole other blog.

REVEALING THE REAL YOU

REVEALING THE REAL YOU | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
Feed, nurture and develop the real you. I can’t stress that enough to millennials. I’ve talked to way too many Baby Boomers and Gen X’ers who have achieved material success in life but aren’t happy. External appearances of success with emptiness on the inside is a direct result of restricting the real you.

KNOW WHO YOU’RE TALKING TO | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
Have you ever made a statement or suggestion to someone only to hear the response; “who do you think you’re talking to?” I know I have. And it was usually conveyed in a rather unpleasant tone. Fortunately, I don’t make that mistake as much as I used to. I now understand the importance of knowing who I’m talking to beforehand.

NAVIGATING THE 7 C’S

NAVIGATING THE 7 C’S | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
Can you name the Seven Sea’s without doing a Google search? Neither could I until last week. I imagine that much like me, you never needed to, so it didn’t matter to you. But throughout history, those who were required to navigate those waters to get where they needed to go knew the seven seas, and knew them well.

WHO EVALUATES YOUR VALUE?

WHO EVALUATES YOUR VALUE? | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
Don’t confuse cost or compensation with value. And don’t confuse what you get paid with what you’re worth. Value should not be quantified by a single number based on profit. True value is a composite measure of your current and potential mental, physical, spiritual, relational and financial contributions.

THE AUDACITY OF VULNERABILITY

THE AUDACITY OF VULNERABILITY | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
