ARE YOU LEADING FROM THE FRONT?

ARE YOU LEADING FROM THE FRONT? | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
As a rule, you should always lead from the front. I know this sounds rather obvious. If you’re leading someone you should naturally be out in front. Trust me, it’s not as intuitive as you might think.

YOUR GREATEST LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTE

YOUR GREATEST LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTE | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
What is your greatest leadership attribute? I’ve posed this question to many college students and young professionals in an effort to help prepare them for long-term success in the workplace and in life. I often remind my millennial crews that effective leadership skills are required in every facet of life.

Millennials come in all different races, sizes, personalities and even attitudes. One of my first experiences in understanding the importance of the attitude that I project came a few years back when I was still in high school while getting recruited for college football.

WHAT ARE YOU COMMITTED TO?

WHAT ARE YOU COMMITTED TO? | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
If you’re honest with yourself, then you’ll admit that some of the things that you pursue are because that’s what someone else wants you to do. Those are the efforts that are usually short lived. The areas in your life where you really bear fruit are the areas where you are truly committed. These are the areas where you follow up and follow through. You do the work and finish the job.

WHERE IS THE LOVE?

WHERE IS THE LOVE? | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
“Blessed be those who are paid to do what they would do for free” –Anon Growing up we are taught that the key to life is happiness, but we’re also taught that we have to be successful financially, spiritually and physically. Some people believe that you have to sacrifice what you truly love to be successful. However, in many cases, you do not have to give up what you truly love to be successful. The greatest successes come from embracing what makes you happy.

MILLENNIAL PERSPECTIVES: MILLENNIAL AMBITION | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it

HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY

HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
What is Presidents Day all about? As far as I can tell, it’s either a celebration of George Washington’s Birthday, a combination of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays, or a collective celebration of all of our U.S. Presidents throughout history. It may have started off as a celebration to honor the man known as “The Father of this Country”, but now it really depends on what state you live in. So what is Presidents Day all about to you?

SOMETIMES CHANGE REQUIRES REPETITION

SOMETIMES CHANGE REQUIRES REPETITION | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
“Practice makes perfect”. You’ve al heard that phrase before. Malcolm Gladwell does a good job of illustrating the importance of practice in his book Outliers. In the book Malcolm discusses his 10,000-hour theory that states that it takes roughly 10,000 hours of practice at something to master it. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I do know this…

INSPIRING THE CUSTOMIZATION OF EDUCATION

INSPIRING THE CUSTOMIZATION OF EDUCATION | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
As Millennials are coming of age and entering adult-hood and parenthood, I believe we will notice greater expectations of customization in education. Largely because of the high unemployment rate Millennials have experienced in spite of being the most educated generation in American history, they are expressing a growing need for a more customized approach to education.

MILLENNIAL PASSIONS ARE A PRIORITY

MILLENNIAL PASSIONS ARE A PRIORITY | Culturational Chemistry™ | Scoop.it
If you’re not passionate about it, why even pursue it? This seems to be the sentiment of an entire generation. This is pretty much the Millennial Mindset. I remember the popular saying for Gen X used to be “if it don’t make dollars then it don’t make sense”. Choices, decisions and behaviors were largely governed by how much money could be made. For past generations, that was simply the American way. Not so much for this generation.
