Adicta a internet... naaaaa...

Monica S Mcfeeters's curator insight, March 4, 2013 7:57 AM

Here are the signs of Internet addiction. Learning to balance the internet and computer into daily routines is a challenge for many people. Some get so frustrated they decide to avoid, never use or get rid of the internet and computer use in general.

Many go through a fairly long term obsession because it does seem that if you do not spend a good bit of time with the computer in a range of ways you do not master it well. I have seen in our family after the obsession there seems to be a fading off of obsessive use over time. Sometimes just because life happens and there is no time, but also because a certain level of success happens and it requires less time to maintain skill than develop initial skills and knowledge.

This article does not address the fact that many online friends we never have or would even want to have dinner with DO share common causes for real and are passionate about these causes when many of our families and real friends do not find them interesting and are not passionate.  These efforts to make the world a better, more just place to be are a very important function of the web.

The time spent on the web at work or at home can also help stimulate growth and inspiration for your work. I connect with others in my field and they inspire me and spark ideas. I am the only one at my job and does what I do....Many only appreciate what they do or certain select people in the dominant areas are doing. Connecting during the work day online can encourage a person to stay on task and reach for a higher goal by this contact to online networks in the same field of work. Real life contacts can often take the wind out of your sails. Online you can seek uplifting, informative,  inspirational contacts and info where onsite you must take what you get.

Why Sales on Social Media Will Be Huge By 2015 [INFOGRAPHIC]

Why Sales on Social Media Will Be Huge By 2015 [INFOGRAPHIC] | Cultura de massa no Século XXI (Mass Culture in the XXI Century) | Scoop.it

Shopping on social media may not be big right now, but by 2015, it's expected to explode...

A new infographic by has found that “social commerce sales are expected to bring in $30 billion each year by 2015, with half of web sales to occur through social media,” writes Samantha Murphy of Mashable. Currently, one in three small businesses use Facebook, while there are over 42 million fan pages on Facebook. Seventeen percent of those sell products on the pages.

Facebook fans are 79 percent more likely than a non-fan to purchase a product, and 74 percent of fans are more likely to recommend a company or product. The social media site also drives 26 percent of referral traffic to company websites. Right now ”20 percent of shoppers prefer to purchase products via Facebook than the brand’s website”— and that number is expected to climb.

How to increase the visibility of your Facebook Page [infographic]

How to increase the visibility of your Facebook Page [infographic] | Cultura de massa no Século XXI (Mass Culture in the XXI Century) | Scoop.it

Facebook is seen by many as the ultimate social media marketing platform to engage with your customers and prospects. Nearly 1 billion potential customers are using it, providing you with the means to reach and engage with all of them.

Promotional activities seem to center around a singular, focused social media marketing objective of increasing Facebook “likes”. Often all other social media and marketing strategies are ignored because of this obsession. The longer term tactics of content creation, optimising for search engines and building email lists are forgotten in the “liking” acquisition frenzy.
