Sven Yrvind is at sea again!

Sven Yrvind is at sea again! | cruisingyachts | Scoop.it

Sven Yrvind (Lundin) is a household name among world cruisers and yachtsmen. He has been sailing the worlds oceans onboard his "Bris" boats. Not the biggest in size, but strong and safe. Mr. Yrvind has not long ago sailed from Kinsdale Ireland with his "Yrvind.com" only 4.8 metres long on his way to Madeira and then awaits the Atlantic Ocean. He has SPOT installed and you can track his passage on his blog. I recommend getting his book "Bris" for anyone who has ever thought of crossing an ocean in a small boat. http://www.yrvind.com/index.html

There Be Pirates

There Be Pirates | cruisingyachts | Scoop.it

The sailing round here has been fantastic with constant winds produced by the vast valleys. Met some great people, the oddest being cave dwelling hippies who squeezed out their previous dinners into plastic bags then throw the bag into the ocean …. SMART!!! … a protected floating turd surprise that lands back on the beach again.

S/V Nomadness | Nomadness

S/V Nomadness | Nomadness | cruisingyachts | Scoop.it

"Once I thought it through, the eventual selection criteria for my escape pod were surprisingly clear: quality construction, less-than-absurd draft, a stout and preferably steel hull, excellent serviceability, pilothouse, survival tools like a watermaker and solar panels, room to add extensive geekery without having to destroy a work of art, and the ineffable rightness that ya just know when ya see it..."

'TIS NOT TOO LATE TO SEEK A NEWER WORLD | cruisingyachts | Scoop.it
In January of 2010, I left Los Angeles, CA in pursuit of a dream: to sail one tiny boat right round the world, alone. This blog is a record, in its little fits and bursts, of these days and years away...

S/V Delos: A new beginning

S/V Delos: A new beginning | cruisingyachts | Scoop.it

Over the weekend I suffered from a bout of the stomach flu. I’ll spare you the graphic details, but as I was sitting on the cold bathroom floor, awaiting the next onset, I started to think about the cycles in life. How what we put into our bodies will eventually come out—one way or another..read more:

S/V Gratitude - Malø 43

S/V Gratitude - Malø 43 | cruisingyachts | Scoop.it

Having extracted themselves from "normal life," Charlie and ISusan have taken a leave from Seattle routines to venture south for the winter aboard Gratitude, their Malö 43. They've owned the boat since 2002 and cruised in the usual local places near Puget Sound. To sail to Mexico they have added a bit of "de crap on de back" including a Hydrovane wind steering rig, solar panels, and a water maker. They'll report where the wind takes them and if this fancy new gear makes for happy cruising.

World Tour Stories - Alex and Taru sailing around the world

World Tour Stories - Alex and Taru sailing around the world | cruisingyachts | Scoop.it

Alex and Taru are sailing the world onboard the Caos, a Hallberg Rassy 352. They are now at St. Martin where a new yacht is beeing prepared for the rest of the passage. Great content, great photography and has some very good stories both for yachties and fashionsistas. I love how they mix content and update the blog almost daily. This is clearly someone who understand digital media and those who consumes it in this day and age. http://sailingaroundtheglobe.blogspot.com/
