Royal Caribbean is first 'autism-friendly' cruise line

Royal Caribbean is first 'autism-friendly' cruise line | Cruising | Scoop.it
For an autistic child, a cruise can be a minefield. Everything about the experience, from waiting to board, to crowded spaces to loud noises can be frightening. Royal Caribbean moved to address those issues

Prycilla DuBarry's comment, April 9, 2014 12:13 PM
I think its so important for the industry to cater to needs like these. I have an aunt that has one autistic child and there are many times where they would not even think of taking certain types of vacations because of the struggle of their kids being able to adapt to such dramatic environmental change. Will definitely mention this to her. I believe April is autism awareness month :)
Mauricio Valbuena's comment, April 9, 2014 5:21 PM
Great job by Royal. Every cruise line should follow in their path and make sure their ships cater to everyone, including people with not just physical disabilities, but any kind of special need
Tatiana Monsalve's comment, May 18, 2014 1:13 PM
I felt extreme excited and relieved that this cruise line industry took the time to think about these kids and accommodate just for them. There should be no reason why they aren't treated equally. Not to mention that families with autism kids will be glad to hear that they can take a vacation!

Investigate for yourself the mechanisms of global trade

Adam Deneault's curator insight, December 14, 2015 7:57 PM
This is a pretty informative interactive map of the largest ports in the world. Very well put together to help some understandings of trade. Most of the ports are on the East coast of China which is the Pacific Sea. The reason there are probably so many here in China is because they make a large amount of product that needs to be shipped worldwide. They are like the leading country in imports and exports to other global or major global markets.
Alex Smiga's curator insight, March 14, 7:40 PM

This more clearly shows the regional restructuring of the global economy than just about anything I've ever seen, especially manufacturing.  The 8 largest and busiest ports in the world are all in East or Southeast Asia (and 11 of the top 13).  A quick glance at the historical charts will show that most of these were relatively minor ports that have exploded in the last 20 years.

Carnival Extends Stay in The Big Easy

Carnival Extends Stay in The Big Easy | Cruising | Scoop.it
A new five-year agreement will keep at least two Fun Ships based year-round in New Orleans through 2019 if not longer.

The Fun Ships feel right at home in The Big Easy. So much so that Carnival Cruise Lines has promised to continue operating two ships year-round from the Port of New Orleans at least through 2019.

The new agreement also includes three one-year options that would extend Carnival’s stay at the Erato Street Cruise Terminal until 2022.

Camila A Garcia's curator insight, July 1, 2014 10:23 PM

As every day goes by, there are more and more people who want to go in cruises to see the world. For instance, I would definitely choose a cruise to go see Asia next year since i was planing on doing it by air. The cruise industry has grown more and more every day and with no doubt, it will continue to expand.
