How Art and Dance Are Making Computer Science Culturally Relevant (EdSurge News)

How Art and Dance Are Making Computer Science Culturally Relevant (EdSurge News) | Visioni e Linguaggi | Scoop.it
“ This fall, my computer science class will follow the new AP Computer Science curriculum framework while also including culturally responsive instruction that makes use of students’ interests, community settings, and cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Some of the students enjoy freestyle rap and dance, so they will learn how to simulate or enhance their performances using code. Other students study drawing and painting, so they will learn how to use code to create their artwork. This approach is a gateway to computer science, using coding to foster creative expression, and supporting cultural responsiveness that addresses underrepresented students’ lack of exposure to computer science.”

3 Powerful Apps for Creating Green Screen Videos with Students | #Creativity #ModernEDU

3 Powerful Apps for Creating Green Screen Videos with Students | #Creativity #ModernEDU  | Visioni e Linguaggi | Scoop.it

Green screen is a cinematographic technique that allows video editors to add a variety of visual effects to their videos. These effects include : adding virtual backgrounds, superimposing subjects over animated backdrops, placing a subject on another shot and many more. Green screen technology has been widely used in weather and movie industry. But now with the emergence of apps such as the ones below, everyone can use this technology to create engaging clips and presentations. As Do Ink explained “

Green screen technology is used in the movies to make it look like the actors have landed on an alien planet, and it's used on TV to make it look like your local news announcer is standing in front of an animated weather map. The green screen effect works by combining images from multiple sources into a single video. These images can come from photos or videos in your camera roll, or from the live video camera. “ere to edit the content.

Office Mix is an add-in for PowerPoint 2013 that allows users to create interactive educational content quickly and easily.
Once users enable the add in they can...
► add quizzes or polls,
► record screen capture video,
► insert audio and videos and
► add and remove digital ink during the presentation.
It is a content creation system.
When practitioners have completed the production of their lesson or course in Office Mix, they can export the presentation as a video or as a SCORM compliant file which they can then upload to their LMS.
What is even more exciting is the ability to share lessons by uploading them to the Office Mix Gallery, found via the menu at the top of the Office Mix screen.
So, Office Mix Gallery could be used as a learning management system.

C) Fasi e step dello Storytelling.
D) Strumenti utili per lo Storytelling.
E) Esempi e link utili sullo Storytelling a scuola.
F) Bibliografia essenziale sullo Storytelling.

INFOGRAFICA

Brett.Ashley.Crawford's curator insight, June 13, 12:15 PM
Virtual Reality has a lot of potential but seems to be hung up in the VC and pro-sumer category.  The content available is thin and the barrier to entry for users is financially significant for a basic consumer pattern.  The health concerns are also concerning.  HD TV didn't have this many things stacked against it and it never really made it. It will be interesting to see how things develop.
