L'étude mentionnée démontre, une fois de plus, le poids des solution en SaaS dans le déploiement d'application CRM (40% estimés en 2014, 50% en 2015) sous l'impulsion, parmi d'autres éditeurs, de Salesforce.com. On note également l'arrivée d'un 5ème "driver" sur ce marché après le Social, la mobilité, le "Big Data" et le Cloud Computing : les objets connectés. Ce nouveau driver incite les directions Marketing et CRM à reconsidérer les service offerts à leurs clients sous l'angle de la connexion permanente et prendre en compte l'intégration de ces nouveaux services dans le choix d'un outil suffisamment souple et évolutif pour les gérer/exploiter.
