While I feel that it is very brave to go nude or partially nude in public to make a statement, I believe this would take away from the actual point trying to be made. Being nude in public would receive a large amount of publicity for a protest however; I feel that the reporting would actually be on the nudity and not the cause behind the nudity. The shock value in an action such as this would be extreme but unless the meaning of the nudity is clear the message being communicated would go largely unheard.

I don’t feel like this is an appropriate way to get a point across or get what you want. It seems very unprofessional and if you want to be taken seriously and be respected you need to earn that respect and make decisions that are going to help your cause and your image. Being nude to get the press involved is the same as making a sexy music video to sell more CD’s it’s just a way to manipulate people feelings into getting what you want.

I think that many people may consider this strictly a publicity stunt it also shows basic inequalities between men and women. Females have been taught that it is not appropriate to stand up for yourself or have a voice. Also women are supposed to act like a "lady" and not behave in a sexual manner. Many people are so consumed with the fact that nudity is sexual and it shouldn’t be. Males walk around without a shirt on all the time but a woman does this and it’s newsworthy. Nudity is natural and people have turned it into something dirty or scandalous. By protesting topless these women are being heard and as much as it may be a publicity stunt if they were just having a regular protest would we even be talking about it now. No their protest shouldn’t strictly be about the nudity but clearly it is helping to get their point across.
