Kane County state's atty. to lead state initiative on prosecution practices

Twenty years ago, a prosecutor might have known something about DNA, but probably wouldn't have had much access to DNA evidence. And things like social media and cell tower information were inconceivable.

Seems both sides have been hurt by dead witnesses. The reason for the new trial in the first place was because the State failed to notify the defense of a "now-dead eyewitness that cast doubt on the woman's statement to authorities."
