240784's insight:

Armored vehicles are an asset that every major police force should have. Some criminals may be detruded from crime from fear of police however many may also feel they they could deal with police and still commit a crime. However with an armored vehicle there is likely not even going to be a need to exercise its functions, the sight alone of the massive vehicle serves as an intimidation factor toward criminals. Many criminals may arm themselves with a weapon such as a firearm but something criminals will not have is a vehicle strong enough to compete with something originally designed for warfare. Positive additions such as this should continue being added top police forces everywhere.

With the advances in modern technology it is always interesting to see how the world is being benefited by it. It seems most people are aware that technology can make everyday tasks easier but it is important for modern companies to design things that help assist in more important problems as well. The age of advanced technology is still young today and is just beginning to make significant advancements, if a police car is being equipped with the capabilities seen in this Astra than that opens a future potential for greater quantities of these kind of squad cars and even more advancements to them. In the future, probably within the next five years, features applied to this car will likely be something typical on all police cars around the world and there will be even more advancement as well.

240784's insight:

It is very encouraging to hear about an ongoing crime as serious as human trafficking being addressed by the international community. Obviously with the difference of laws between borders makes it difficult for these kinds of crimes to be controlled, which is why it is necessary for multiple governments involved to discuss and decide on how they will cooperate in preventing these crimes. Hopefully this meeting will be a step towards making more progress in the fight against human trafficking and more can be held to continue international cooperation toward ending these crimes.

It is always interesting to read about foreign governments detaining someone for an unknown reason. It is good to see that this issue is being brought to the attention of the United Nations and also that the Iranian government  doesn’t seem to have any probable cause for detain MR. Hekmati. Hopefully the obvious wrongful holding of this innocent man to the rest of the world will force the Iranian government to release him and allow him to return home.
