Somehow, Google acquired seven robotics companies without anyone noticing. The companies, all of which have been scooped up in the last year or so, are all a part of former Android boss Andy Rubins...
Daphne Cheung's insight:
Off to the races of the robots. Ever since Amazon mentioned their drone to deliver packages, which they hope would be implemented in 4-5 years, they're not alone in the race. UPS has mentioned plans a day after Amazon publicized it and today Google just bought seven robotics firms.
The firms acquired by Google do appear to be useful in a manufacturing plant or perhaps a robotic prosthetic if modified, and would certainly be interesting to see what Google will do with robotics technology.
