Scotland freed from oppressive rule | Creative Writing Project | Scoop.it
megan grady's insight:

After the gruesome battle that took place at Macbeth’s castle, Scotland has finally been liberated from its tyrannical rule. The rumors of an army were correct. After many days of planning, the English army has finally conquered Macbeth’s castle, executed Macbeth, and regained control of the country. Malcolm has taken over the title of king of Scotland and is now promising to return our country to a state of peace and virtue. When asked what drove him to take such force against Macbeth he replied the state at which the country was in saying that Scotland needed a righteous leader with integrity.

We asked psychologist Dr. Peters what he believed caused the downfall of Macbeth. He stated that Macbeth was a heroic leader but once tempted by power, turned to greed and his ambitions got the best of him. He described how power can be very tempting and that even honest leaders can corrupt.

Banquo and Fleance Attacked: Macbeth suspected for guilt

Banquo and Fleance Attacked: Macbeth suspected for guilt | Creative Writing Project | Scoop.it
megan grady's insight:

While on their way back to Macbeth’s castle, Banquo and Fleance were attacked by a band of murderers. Although Banquo was killed, Fleance managed to escape the assault and his location now is unknown. The murderers are unidentified, but it seems as though they were hired for the job. A scene at Macbeth’s castle the same night drives the notion of Macbeth’s involvement. An eye witness informed us that Macbeth saw a ghost in his seat and started going mad, crying out, "Thou canst not say Idid it." Macbeth’s outburst of guilt is certainly a topic of discussion today, generating a lot of questions concerning what he did. The talk is over Macbeth’s involvement in Banquos murder. Lady Macbeth claimed that his episode was normal occurrence that has been a problem since he was a child, but is that all it was or are they covering something up?

Duncan: Murdered at Macbeths Castle

Duncan: Murdered at Macbeths Castle | Creative Writing Project | Scoop.it
megan grady's insight:

After a celebration gala at Macbeth’s castle, King Duncan was stabbed in his bed late that night. When found the next morning, his servants seem to be the alleged killers as they were not only covered in the king’s blood but were lying next to the murder weapon. Although there is hard evidence against these men, some are still spectacle about the motive as to why they would kill the king. Duncan was known for his integrity and sincere motives, providing Scotland with fine leadership. Some believe that the servants were hired for this brutal murder. As curious as we are for the truth, we will never know the true reasoning behind this incident. When these men were discovered, they were killed on the spot by Macbeth, causing no one to be able to question them. While some claim it was out of honor for the king, others are afraid this “hero” may be hiding something.

Although we need time to mourn the death of this honest ruler, the question in the mind of all of Scotland is eating us away: Who will be the next king? While Malcolm was previously thought to be the heir to the Scotland throne, it seems that Malcolm, along with his brother Donalbain, have fled the country. Could they be involved in the murder of their own father? Due to their absence, Macbeth was named the new king of Scotland.
