Patrizia Bertini's insight:

Engaging customers is not co-creation.

Crowdsourcing has its perils: The lack of a real shared goal within a community makes almost impossible to co-create. It’s like expecting that an orchestra of hundred of players can spontaneously generate an opera without the control of a maestro. Like Henkel and GM experienced.

Slavko Martinov: The antidote to Propaganda? Question everything! : by Patrizia Bertini | London Progressive Journal: A non-partisan journal of the left.
Patrizia Bertini's insight:

“Question everything: everything you read, see, or hear. It’s a simple thing and everyone is capable of doing it. Sometimes you do it without thinking and [sometimes] all it takes is for friends or someone in your family or your class to say What do you think? Just the simplest thing, or Did you read about it today? and it starts a conversation."

Patrizia Bertini's insight:

Henry Ford once said, “If I had asked my customers what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse.” [...] Unfortunately, when the time comes to innovate, many brands and companies have been so brainwashed by the ridiculous notion that “the target audience and core consumer know all”. Design Thinking Is A Failed Experiment. So What’s Next? | Creactivity | Scoop.it

Patrizia Bertini's insight:

The decade of Design Thinking is ending and I, for one, am moving on to another conceptual framework: Creative Intelligence. [...] Design Thinking broke design out of its specialized, narrow, and limited base and connected it to more important issues and a wider universe of profit and non-profit organizations. I believe the concept of Creative Intelligence expands that social engagement even further. [B. Nussbaum]

Patrizia Bertini's insight:

“Businesses are pyramids built to promote efficiency. But creativity is generated within circles — playgrounds — where a small number of highly talented people, usually in twos, threes or small teams, work.[…] Creative competence is like a sport. You can train for it and increase the capacities of yourself and your organization. If you get good at it, you can also transform it into real economic value on a massive scale.” Bruce Nussbaum”

Patrizia Bertini's insight:

intelligence is not just something that happens inside individual brains. It also arises with groups of individuals. In fact, I'd define collective intelligence as groups of individuals acting collectively in ways that seem intelligent. By that definition, of course, collective intelligence has been around for a very long time. Families, companies, countries, and armies: those are all examples of groups of people working together in ways that at least sometimes seem intelligent. (..) What's new, though, is a new kind of collective intelligence enabled by the Internet.

Patrizia Bertini's insight:

If you ask me what information is, it really makes me think that if everything I have turned the other way was information as it’s presented, my natural instinct is to turn everything over and examine it from underneath, or sideways or back to front, or upside down… That’s how I get to the truth. I just don’t accept information as it’s given to me.
