Robin Good: Thanks to Louis Gray who has helped me discover that Google has released a Share Bookmarklet which can be used to capture and post any kind of web content on your Google+ stream.
The Google+ Share Bookmarklet captures instantly title, description and images present on any web page while allowing you to select which image to use (or to drop it altogether) and providing a "comment" box. The title and original description cannot be edited.
The bookmarklet is free to use.

"The article begins with a definition: media literacy is the ability to access, analyse, evaluate and create messages across a variety of contexts. This four-component model is then examined for its applicability to the internet. Having advocated this skills-based approach to media literacy in relation to the internet, the article identifies some outstanding issues for new media literacy crucial to any policy of promoting media literacy among the population. The outcome is to extend our understanding of media literacy so as to encompass the historically and culturally conditioned relationship among three processes: (i) the symbolic and material representation of knowledge, culture and values; (ii) the diffusion of interpretative skills and abilities across a (stratified) population; and (iii) the institutional, especially, the state management of the power that access to and skilled use of knowledge brings to those who are ‘literate’." http://www.ted.com How do we consume data? At TED@SXSWi, technologist JP Rangaswami muses on our relationship to information, and offers a surprising and sharp insight: we treat it like food.
So if you think of your relationship with information like food, what will you do differently? I think it's a great analogy, and reminds me the Information Diet book by Clay Johnson. Because that's all about curation is. Taking care of what you are able to "digest", what "feeds" you. Good information allows you not only to feel well, but to feel better day after day and connect with others (food is one of the best social breaker in the world, don't you think?)
But curation is not a diet to try, it could just be a tremendous lifestyle to adopt for good.
