New look: SF Tagesschau

New look: SF Tagesschau | Corporate Identity | Scoop.it

The Swiss national broadcaster, SRG SSR, is gearing up for the launch of six high-definition channels on February 29. At the same time, its TV channels will introduce new logos, two of them will change their names, and there will probably be some new graphics. This is a culmination of a rebranding process that was revealed back in May 2010, aimed at bringing the corporation's activities closer together. Expect a post about that when more information becomes available.

 

In the meantime, the German division SRF has unveiled a new intro for its news programme, SF Tagesschau, which also launches on February 29.

Led by James Beard-nominated chef Charles Phan, The Slanted Door has grown from a hole in the wall establishment to a posh spot in the foodie-friendly Ferry Building and is the center point of a family of four restaurants under The Slanted Group Door umbrella. A&O is an Italian supermarket chain with about 750 stores which is a part of the retail group Selex. This week, it unveiled a refreshed logo as part of a chain-wide renovation.

 

The previous logo, which seems to be relic of the "block" signs that were very common on supermarkets in the 50s and 60s, has been updated by making the squares a little rounder, revitalising it while keeping it recognisable. Four "bars" in different colours have been added underneath, that "give liveliness to the sign and are consistent with the new store environments".

The dashboard that serves as the starting point for millions of posts ranging from text to video, has gotten a bit of refresh with new icons.

 

You’ll notice that the icons have gotten a more literal treatment, especially for the audio, video, and photo buttons. The colors are more vibrant as well, and the “page” background on each icon has been removed so that the graphics can stand up by themselves.

Established in 1932, the New Theatre is a proudly independent theater in Sydney, Australia.

 

This past January, New Theatre introduced a new visual and verbal identity created by the Sydney office of Interbrand.

 

The new logo and identity are fantastic and amazingly smart and clever. The “N” monogram on its own is instantly readable as an “N” and having its slab serifs be the “T”s of the name is great. On top of that, the “N” with the wordmark works perfectly to cement the concept and execution. The rest of the identity is wittily crafted and executed from pins to restroom signage.
