Educators Evaluating Quality Instructional Products

Educators Evaluating Quality Instructional Products | CCSS News Curated by Core2Class | Scoop.it

As the Common Core State Standards have reached into schools and classrooms, we've written a lot about the lack of good, aligned instructional resources for them. We've written, too, about projects such as EQuIP, which are trying to fill that vacuum by analyzing materials and posting their reviews.

Since we first wrote about EQuIP, back in February, the organization has added many new sets of math and English/language arts materials to its website. About 50 lessons and units with positive ratings are now part of EQuIP's online library of exemplars. (EQuIP doesn't post the ones with negative reviews.)

ASCD Launches Free Common Core Resource Site -- THE Journal

ASCD Launches Free Common Core Resource Site -- THE Journal | CCSS News Curated by Core2Class | Scoop.it

ASCD has launched EduCore, a new, free digital tool to help educators transition to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in mathematics and literacy. Funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, EduCore is a repository of resources for teachers that includes strategies, videos, and supporting documents for implementing CCSS in math and literacy.

EduCore's Literacy Tools channel currently provides templates, developed by the Literacy Design Collaborative, for teaching argumentation, informational, and narrative writing at the middle and high school level. Teachers can customize the templates according to the reading and writing assignments they give their students, as well as the content they want their students to address.

Look for additions and enhancements to EduCore in the near future.
