Authority: The article is from Biological Sciences Review, a highly notable and read magazine from the University of Manchester.

Accuracy: The source is very in depth and informational. The inofrmation comes from a credible source and the information clearly describes the topic.

Olivia Brooks's curator insight, November 7, 2013 10:43 PM

Currency: This source doesn't have a date, but since the website just tells about the organisms in coral reefs I believe it should still be accurate.

Relevance: The website just has a simple list of animals in coral reefs. It's simplistic but still gives you a great overview of everything.

Authority: Sea World created this website. Not a typical source people use but still reliable. They've been around for years constantly studying the ocean and all it's ecosystems.

Accuracy: The information is not very specific, but it's practically impossible to name all the animals in coral reefs. They give you general types and names of organisms.

Purpose: The website it just to inform the public about what belongs in coral reefs and does the job efficiently.

Olivia Brooks's curator insight, November 8, 2013 12:03 AM

Currency: This article was updated in 2013 and therefore very current and is a reliable source.

Relevance: The website covers a little bit of everything you need to know about coral reefs. It talks about what coral reefs are, what they need to live, animals present, and threats to coral reefs.

Authority: The article is from Untamed Science, a science website. It's not a website I've heard of before, but the information on the page still seems very good.

Accuracy: I like this website because it tells you enough information but not too much about each subject. It also has a short video that is very informational. All the information is accurate and what you need to know.

Purpose: The website is so informational it and isn't too long. The video on the page is just as good for people who aren't interested in reading the page. It's easy to understand and helpful.

Olivia Brooks's curator insight, November 7, 2013 10:06 PM

Currency: This tiny piece of a documentary was made in late 2012, which is pretty current and is therefore still accurate about the Great Barrier Reef.

Relevance: The short clip gives a brief overview of what creates and plants are in the reef. It shows first hand the diverse organisms and how extensive the Great Barrier Reef is, and gives you an idea of what all coral reefs contain.

Authority: The documentary is from Animal Plant, and is therefore a credible source. Animal Planet has been consistantly used and trusted by most people, and has done plenty of research for their shows and documentaries.

Accuracy: Like I previously stated, Animal Planet is a reliable source. The information is very reliable and accurate.

Purpose: The beginning of the film is to just give you a short overview of the Great Barrier and it does that perfectly. It shows the organisms and plants in the reef and explains what it's like therer.
