There's oodles and oodles of good information here. And thankfully (as it's about the benefits of data visualisation and easy ways for humans to consume complex and detailed information), it's refreshingly easily to digest.

Remember people learn from you in 3 ways, audibly, visually and kinaesthetically. Which is why what you do with your body including your face is also so critical.

Dave Wood's curator insight, March 14, 3:58 PM

The first 2 sentences of this article sum it all up:

"On average, your readers will only read 28% of the words on a page.

Can you tell your whole story in 2-3 sentences? Probably not."

As graphic/visual coaches this reinforces the value of recording and working through visuals to support and enhance  the normal  talking and  note taking.

Gifts are about to completely transform Facebook | Copywriting, Wopycriting and more | Scoop.it

Facebook's back on the gift-trail again, allowing users to link to gifts inspired by birthday reminders or friend's timelines or, I imagine, just because.

This move follows on from their recent acquisition of Karma (for $80million, which sounds a lot but I guess really isn't that much for a lifetime of peace and serenity; presuming of course it was just the good stuff they bought).

So will you be amongst the 'millions of people' Facebook would like to encourage to 'share moments together' via an easy-to-order dose of retail therapy?

It would seem Erik thinks an 'invitation-only' social network for the world's elite is the way tomorrow's world will get its business done. Doesn't sound all that encouraging for entrepreneurs who've yet to make their mark...

This is an interesting splodge of data, investigating Facebook & Twitter trends in the Arab world. It comes courtesy of Khaled Al Ahmad aka @Shusmo (with design by Lama Zaitoon).

As the article on Mashable says, "Social media has been often touted for the role it played in the popular uprisings that have spread across the Arab world since December 2010. Despite the buzz, you may be surprised that only 0.26% of the Egyptian population, 0.1% of the Tunisian population and 0.04% of the Syrian population are active on Twitter."

10 Habits of Highly Successful Bloggers - Writing Happiness | Copywriting, Wopycriting and more | Scoop.it

Exceptionally well-written blog on what it takes to be a top-notch blogger, courtesy of Marya at Writing Happiness.

Explores consistency, passion, time-management, relationships (with other bloggers; not the wine, dancefloor and breeding kind) and persistency.

Which brings me on to the following superb quote, also included therein:

"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “Press On” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” – Calvin Coolidge
