Using ThingLink to Support STEAM

Using ThingLink to Support STEAM | Cool Tools for 21st Century Learners | Scoop.it

STEAM is an approach to teaching that supports arts integration across the curriculum. In a STEAM classroom students construct and demonstrate understanding about core subject areas through an art form. Teachers design learning experiences that encourage students to engage in a creative process that connects an art form to one or more core subject areas, such as Science, Engineering, Technology or Math to meet objectives in all areas.

STEAM goes Interactive

STEAM goes Interactive | Cool Tools for 21st Century Learners | Scoop.it

"Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite tools for use in and out of the classroom.  ThingLink offers the ability to take any static image and transform it into an interactive, vibrant learning experience.  I love having students use it to document their discovery process – I have them use their own journal pages as the background image – and as a way to authentically assess their learning.  As a teacher, this becomes a way for me to collect all of my resources and materials in an integrated unit and capture them in one interactive map.  This is really an exciting (and easy!) online resource."

Susan Oxnevad's insight:

Looking forward to sharing an online presentation at the Online STEAM Conference on February 7th!
