Despite years of development, E Ink's displays haven't yet replaced traditional paper everywhere. Sony's trying to change that with this 13.3-inch

Osku Penttinen's insight:

I love my iPad, but it's nothing like paper when taking notes and drawing on it. Sony may have the technology to provide this capability if chooses to license it, as it does with many of its products.

This is much inline with my readings on the zero marginal cost society. Being able to print your own car may not be practical of cost effective today but once it is and car 3D models are available free or low charge on the web, where will the car industry go? I understand why Tesla is building huge battery manufacturing plant as they may have seen that providing key components may be the future of the car industry?

Alexandre Armougom's curator insight, September 29, 9:16 AM

This is a good utility of 3D printer.

Russell R. Roberts, Jr.'s curator insight, September 30, 6:55 AM

Fascinating idea that could revolutionize how we buy, repair, and maintain our cars/trucks.  Imagine dialing up a Porsche sportscar and having it in your garage in a few hours?  Farfetched...but possible. I bet the major car makers are a bit concerned about this.  Aloha, Russ.

Osku Penttinen's insight:

With only three of us eating, our fridge has a moderate turn over in food. But there are always packages and jars that are lost at the back of the fridge which no one can remember when they were put there. If it works, this is a great idea to help avoid health issues from very out of date food.

Especially in a time when health is such a huge factor in society with children from a very young age becoming obese and suffering from eating disorders.
