I'm really liking the idea of badges for Four Bridges. It's important to look at alternate forms of showcasing our education, skills and experience and badges provide an incredible way to be specific in doing just that.

The Future of Tablets in Education: Potential Vs. Reality of Consuming Media | MindShift

The Future of Tablets in Education: Potential Vs. Reality of Consuming Media | MindShift | Continual Learning to Expand the World | Scoop.it

In this four-part series, we’ll use the Someday/Monday template to explore four dimensions of using tablets, such as the iPad, in educational settings, examining how teachers can take students on a journey from consumption of media to curation, creation, and connection. Here, we’ll start with consumption.

A Complete EFL Teacher Training Course Online

A Complete EFL Teacher Training Course Online | Continual Learning to Expand the World | Scoop.it

Shaping the Way We Teach English is a fantastic resource that I came across recently. The resource is similar to other online courses from colleges and universities. It's free and accessible through The Online Language Center of the University of Oregon and it is a pretty complete teacher training course that has videos , viewing tasks, transcripts, observation checklists and even recommended supplementary web based reading.

Multiple Media Search | Continual Learning to Expand the World | Scoop.it

I have to say that I think Spezify has just become my favourite new search engine. I think this is a really great search engine to use in class with students or to get them to use. It's really simple. It displays all results as images and it searches a wide range of multiple media sources such as video, image Twitter etc, not only text.

Games With a Purpose and a Social Network | Continual Learning to Expand the World | Scoop.it

I was actually more interested in the games than the chatting, though with the last game, particularly if you are choosing similar pictures a lot, it might be interesting to chat and find out how similar the person you are working with is. It's also a good bit of language practice for your students if they do, though as ever they should be careful to protect their privacy and identity.
