Consider this too.  If your objective as an app developer is to assist the app user to acquire a new behavior for the purpose of improving a specific health measure, like blood pressure, then collect and monitor blood pressure.   And if you change a dimension of your users' experience (the UX) and the outcome you are monitoring moves in the wrong direction, be prepared to repeal the change and try something else.  Researchers, generally speaking, haven't caught on to this, but the app is a living quasi-experiment, or at least it should be.
